| Course Request Procedure
The offices’ of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD)’s
Training and Education Division offers a wide variety of courses in four
major areas. These areas include Community Emergency Response Team, Emergency
Management, Multi-Hazard Safety Program for Schools and Weapons of Mass
Destruction/Homeland Security. Within each of these areas are a wide
range of courses that cover emergency planning, mitigation, awareness,
operations, command and control in hazardous materials and domestic preparedness
delivered both on and off-island. In the emergency management arena,
we offer the Professional Development Series and Applied Practices Series
certificate programs.
Courses, scheduled on a yearly basis and evaluated quarterly, are determined
through federal, state, county and local requirements and requests. Courses
will be considered outside of the calendar year if a specific need exists.
A calendar of our scheduled courses is available on-line, and can be
viewed and/or downloaded from the agency’s web site at:
http://www.guamhs.org
The budget is planned a year in advance. It will be necessary to determine
if our staffing, schedules and budget will support additional course
requests. We encourage those seeking to schedule courses to fill out
our request form as a referral for planning the next year's events. GHS/OCD
keeps a log of all requests to determine our future courses and funding.
